We at the AAC are deeply saddened to share the news of the tragic death of member, climber, and friend Michelle Xue. Our DC Chapter Chairman David summarized—"Sometimes you meet someone who is just special. Special in all aspects of their life, and they are on a mission to share those gifts with the world. Michelle Xue was one of these people. She absolutely lived her dreams and we lost her along with another climber, Jenny Shedden, to a rock-fall accident on Red Slate Mountain in the Sierra Nevada on Sunday, 10/27/2019.We will miss Michelle and will always be greatful for her service to the AAC as the University Chapter Chairwoman while she was at Georgetown University. We will have a memorial for Michelle in DC coming up soon. Please stay tuned. I thank you, Michelle, for all you brought to the world and all you did for the AAC while you were here. Rest in Peace."-David Giacomin
