Hello Hikers!

Sad news from El Cajon Mountain, where the body of a hiker who went missing on Saturday has been found. The hiker began his hike with a group but after a couple of hours told his companions he was going to go at a slower pace and they shouldn’t wait for him. When he failed to meet his group as agreed in the afternoon, they called the sheriff who began a search. His body was found near the base of a sheer cliff.

Looks like we have a little more warm weather in store before things start to cool off mid-week with some possible showers starting Thursday.

Thanks to our recent rains, it looks like we have a good chance of another “Superbloom” in the desert this spring. Check out Anza-Borrego Desert State Park’s Wildflower page to keep up to date on the current wildflower status in the park.

The Ramona Journal has an informative article about efforts to make Julian a Dark Sky Community, which is exciting news for anyone who likes to head to the mountains for some star-gazing.
